Experience Authenticity in Istria
Step back in time and immerse yourself in the spirit of bygone eras in a beautifully restored old Istrian stone house. Lovingly renovated in 2010 with exclusively ecological materials, this home combines historic charm with sustainable living.
Nestled in the eastern part of Istria, in the town of Sveti Lovreč Labinski (San Lorenzo di Albona), this small village brims with rich history. Located just 1.2 kilometers from the sea, it is near some of the region's most stunning beaches, hidden coves, and scenic viewpoints. From here, you can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of Istria, Kvarner, and the Kvarner islands. The house also lies on the route of a renowned cycling path, offering spectacular vistas of the sea.
Reconnect with Nature and Yourself
Take a serene morning walk along the old Roman road that stretches from the house to the sea. As you pass through a dense pine forest, you'll find yourself enveloped in the tranquil chirping of birds, the fresh aroma of pine, and the gentle sway of treetops in the breeze. This peaceful path leads to the port of Tunarica, where you can experience harmony of body and mind and perhaps discover a deeper connection with yourself.
For those seeking seclusion, a hidden wild beach is just a 20-minute walk from the house. Shaded by nearby trees, this quiet spot allows you to spend the entire day shielded from the sun. Pets are welcome to join you on this serene retreat.
Activities and Nearby Attractions
In the nearby bay, you can rent boats, kayaks, or stand-up paddleboards (SUPs), which we can reserve for you in advance. Bicycles are available for rent in Labin and Rabac and can be conveniently delivered to the house.
Just 13 kilometers away lies the old town of Labin, a remarkable Istrian town with a rich Venetian architectural heritage. It offers numerous attractions, including the Labin City Museum, which was recognized by Lonely Planet as one of the most original small museums in the world due to its unique exhibits.
For an unexpected experience, visit Raša, the youngest town in Istria. Built in just 547 days under Italian administration, it opened in 1937 as a mining town. Raša and its “twin city,” Carbonia in Sicily, are intriguing examples of the functionalist architecture of their era. The "Kova Experience" tourist route takes you through the tunnels and underground corridors of Raša's former coal mine, providing a glimpse into its fascinating history.
Savor Istrian Delights
Indulge in Istrian cuisine, a perfect blend of traditional Istrian and Italian influences. Explore the region's many taverns and fish restaurants, especially those in Labin’s Old Town, where terraces on the city walls provide stunning views of the sea and the Kvarner Bay. Don't miss the city market in Labin, which offers a rich daily selection of fresh Adriatic fish and locally grown fruits and vegetables.
